We worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM

• Our worship is designed to have a familiar and comfortable, but not-too-formal atmosphere. We generally follow the rituals provided in The Book Of Worship of the United Methodist Church.
• Child-care is available for infants and very young children; ask a Greeter or Usher to direct you to the child-care area.
• We regularly use 2 hymnals as resources:The United Methodist Hymnal (the dark-blue hardcover hymnal in the pew-racks,) and The Faith We Sing (the black soft-cover hymnal in the pew-racks)
• Kenwood is a singing congregation. Kenwood's hymn-singing custom is this: parts on the first verses; unison on the last verse. Sing out!
• There will also be spoken acts of praise, usually printed in the bulletin, or sometimes you will be directed to a page in the hymnal for the text.
  
• Scripture will be read. United Methodists take scripture very seriously and it is a part of each of our services.
• Most services will include a sermon. The pastor, or another designated speaker, will share thoughts, teachings and observations based on the scripture, our tradition, and current events.
  

• There will often be additional music in a wide variety of styles, provided by a choir, a guest musician, organ, piano, or other instruments.
• There will be opportunities for prayer throughout the service, both spoken and silent.
• There will be an opportunity for you to share your own joys and concerns in the longer prayer near the end of the service.
• There will be an opportunity for you to share monetary gifts or tithes.
• All Christians are welcome at our communion table, whatever your denomination. We use non-fermented grape-juice and, in addition to bread, rice-cake is available for those who are gluten-intolerant.
  
• Our closing ritual (Benediction) may seem unfamiliar at first, but we hope you will grow to cherish it as we do. You will be asked to join a circle around the pews, holding hands as we sing the Aaronic Benediction (The Lord bless you...) You may leave your belongings, bulletin and hymnal in the pew and return to them after the benediction.
• Most Sundays there will be a "Coffee Hour" -- a time after the close of the service to share fellowship, meet new friends, and usually partake of some tasty goodies. Please join us in the parlor, thru the doors at the front left of the nave.
