The Vested Choir of Kenwood United Methodist Church

Do you like to sing? Whether you would just like to join us for a short period, or you want to make a longer commitment, just speak to any Vested Choir member, or to the Director of Music, and we would be delighted to help you get started. You do not need to be able to read music to sing with us.

The Vested Choir is a mixed choir of about 10-20 amateur singers who rehearse weekly and lead the congregation in worship on Sundays and special services (from September to June). The choir leads the singing of the liturgy and hymnody of the church, and offers selections from a broad range of sacred music in the form of choral responses, psalmody, and anthems.

On occasion, more extended works of the great masters are performed in the context of the worship service (e.g. cantatas, masses, motets). Frequently, additional voices are required for these pieces and persons may join the choir with a specific short-term commitment for that occasion.

Rehearsals are Thursday 7:15-8:45 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Membership in the choir is open to all of High School age or older who are able to sing and enjoy singing the music of the Church in its worship. For further information, contact Larry Wheelock, the Director of Music by email or by telephone: 414-736-0009.
